WPL: Shahadu Rashida’s Brace Gives Pearlpia Ladies Three Points in WPL Match Day Three
The Women’s Premier League side, Pearlpia Ladies hosted their Northern sector counterpart, Supreme Ladies on Saturday, January 30, 2021 on Match Day 3 of the Women’s Premier League.
Pearlpia Ladies were fighting to get their first win in the ongoing Women’s Premier League after drawing one all at home on Match Day One and losing away to Ampem Darkoa in Techiman last week.
The technical team and players of Pearlpia Ladies were Keen to get back into the league persuit by winning the home match.
Pearlpia Ladies pushed players upfront for an early win. Supreme Ladies being one of the experienced side were able to contain the pressure from the home side until the 33rd minute when the center could no longer hold and things started falling apart.
Shahadu Rashida opened the scoring for Pearlpia Ladies on the 33rd minute as a result of miscommunication between the defenders and goalkeeper of the visitors, Supreme Ladies.
Supreme Ladies were awarded a penalty in the first half. Sandra Owusu took the spot kick but the magic hands of Black Princesses goalkeeper, Konlan Cynthia salvaged the situation.
Just before the end of the first half, Shahadu Rashida made it two for the home side.
Supreme Ladies pulled one back on the 46th minute through the brilliant work of Patience Berchie Afriyie.
The visitors tried so hard to get the equalizer but it was not meant to be as the home team proved their dominance by maintaining the composure and concentration.
Sandra Owusu got several one-on-one chances but Goalkeeper Konlan Cynthia came to Pearlpia Ladies rescue.
Supreme Ladies made several attempts but the brilliant goalkeeping from Konlan Cynthia maintain the scoreline.
The match ended 2:1 for Pearlpia Ladies, giving them four points from three matches.
Shahadu Rashida was the NASCO MVP after producing a brace.
