WPL : Puzuri Group of Companies is the Reason for Our Good Performance in Away Matches this Season – Sumani Basiru-Deen, Northern Ladies.

The head Coach of Northern Ladies, Sumani Basiru-Deen has disclosed that the sponsorship package from Puzuri Group of Companies is the reason Northern Ladies performed well in their away matches in the just ended women’s Premier League season. Speaking on Radio Tamale’s sports programme via phone on Sunday, 6th June, 2021, the head coach indicated that he was satisfied with Northern ladies away performances. According to him, some challenges make it difficult for teams to do well when they travel to play away matches.

Puzuri Group of companies entered into a partnership deal with Northern Ladies just before the beginning of the 2021 Women’s Premier League Season. The company who are into farming foot the expenses involved in Northern Ladies away matches including transportation, accommodation and feeding. The company also provided the club with Camp wears, traveling kits as well as warm up kits.

Northern Ladies played 7 away matches, winning 2, drawing 4 and losing just one 1.

“One will agree that it is not easy getting these results from away matches but Northern Ladies did. We did because we never faced traveling challenges such as transportation, accommodation and feeding. We could concentrate fully on the Matches”, the coach noted. However, Coach Sumani Basirudeen, doubles as equipment officer for Ghana National U-15 team, associates the good performance of the club to the support the club enjoyed from Puzuri Group of Companies.

 

The coach also used the opportunity to thank Puzuri Group of Companies for the kind gesture and appealed to the company to renew the sponsorship for next year’s Women’s Premier.

The coach also expressed his gratitude and thanks to the supporters of Northern Ladies Fc for their continuous support and called on them to continue the good job they doing for the club.

Northern Ladies accumulated a total of 19 points from the fourteen matches they played in the season with a pending case with Ghana Football Association. If the case goes in their favor the could move to 22 points. The club sits on the 4th position on the league log.

 

The club qualified for the quarter finals of the 2021 Women’s FA Cup, hence would travel to Takoradi to take on the winners of the Southern Zone of the Women’s Premier League, Hasaacas Ladies on Saturday ,12th June, 2021.
