All is set for the Ghana Women’s Premier League to start on 16th January, 2021 across both zones ie Northern Zone and Southern Zone. The league was scheduled to start on 2nd January, 2021 but was postponed due to certain issues. However, it appears all is now set for the 16 clubs to start the new campaign.
Tamale based club, Northern Ladies Fc will start their campaign with a visit to Kumasi to engage Ashtown Ladies Fc on Saturday, 16th January, 2021 at the Opoku Ware Senior High School Park.
In an interview with the head coach of Northern Ladies Fc, Coach Basiru-Deen Sumani, he expressed his side readiness for the new season. He stated that all players are in good shape and in good form and are ready to start the league.
” All my players are in good shape and in good form. They have been doing well in training. Yes, they are ready for the league”. Said Coach Sumani Basiru-Deen.
When he was questioned on new signings, he said the new signings are doing well but only three of the five new signings are ready for first team action.
“The new players are doing good. They are performing well in training sessions. But only three are ready for first team action”. He added.
All the 16 clubs in both zones are expected to be in action this weekend of January 16, 2021.
