Women’s Football: Tamale Super Ladies Soccer Club ready for Regional Division One League

Tamale Super Ladies is a Northern based Women’s Division One Club which was founded on 15th July, 2015 by the club’s current Technical Director Mohammed A. Akanta.

The club in situated in the Tamale Metropolis and part of the Regional Women’s Division One League. The club trains at Kulikuli School park in Changli.

As part of the preparations for the league, the club recently launched the official kits for season and put in place the needed structures to run the club.

The club is currently one of the most branded and we’ll structured women’s clubs in Northern Region having brought in one of the renowned football administrator, Mr Abdul Ganiu as the Chief Executive Officer.

The team have been training and playing friendly matches ranging from low to high profile matches just to keep the players fit and prepare their minds towards the league.

The club’s Mission is to develop young female players for the region and the nation as a whole within the shortest possible time.

For this reason, the club has nurtured and developed some players to the Premier League Clubs in the region. Notable among them are Amenyeku Afi, the current goalkeeper of Northern Ladies and Takia and Fauza both playing for Pearlpia Ladies in the Ghana Women’s Premier League.

In the last 6 years, the club won three (3) Gold medals in the Women’s Clubs Association Unity Games, One (1) Bronze medal from that same competition and Runners up in Regional Women’s Division Two League. Due to the club’s fine form, the club was invited to participate in the 1st edition of BANUMA Top Four competition in the region. Again Super Ladies won a Bronze medal in the Mix Choco Competition and was again ranked the Third Most Successful Women’s Club in the Northern Region after Pearlpia Ladies and Northern Ladies which are both Premier clubs

The club’s current target is to secure qualification into the Women’s Premier League when the green light is given for Regional League to commence.

The club resume training on Monday 26th April 2021 after going for a week break.
