WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: TAMALE SUPER LADIES FC CONTINUE THEIR SUPERB UNBEATEN RECORD

TAMALE SUPER LADIES FC CONTINUE THEIR SUPERB UNBEATEN RECORD.

The Northern Regional Women’s Division One League is in its fifth week with Super Ladies go pass their their city rival Young Queens with an emphatic 2-0 win at the stadium annex 3.

Young Queens head coach, Coach Kubli and his girls pushed for their fist win of the season but the solid defense of Super Ladies made it difficult for the Queens to penetrate.

The pacy and skilful attack of Super Ladies paid of in the 15th minute when they got a penalty after Young Queens defender took both feets of the attacker who was in control of the ball. Mohammed Rabiatu calmly converted the penalty to put Super Ladies in 1-0 lead.

Just when the first half was near over, Yakubu Sherifa got her 6th goal in 5 matches when she took advantage of the goalkeeper’s error to punish the Queens. The first half ended 2-0 infavor of the visitors.

The match got more tensed in the second half as the Queens were pushing so hard for the equalizers but Super Ladies head coach, Haruna Najimudeen tactically out powered the opponent to keep a clean sheet.

Super Ladies are currently on 13 points after winning 4, drawing 1, scoring 14 goals and conceding 2 in their fist five matches.

Super Ladies had five of their star players invited to Nation U-15 camp including the Captain Zulaiha who is always instrumental in the team, but that could not prevent them from their unbeaten record when they played against Kpanvo Future Ladies in match day 3.

Super Ladies the only team to have conceded the least number of goals (2) which indicates how solid the back line is.

Super Ladies will hope to continue their win record as they travel to Nyanpkala to face Beyom Ladies in their next encounter.
