WOMEN’S FOOTBALL : NORTHERN LADIES FC SUFFER FIRST DEFEAT IN THE 2020 PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES.

Ghana Women’s Premier League side, Northern Ladies FC has suffered their first defeat in the 2020 pre-season friendlies in the hands of CFC U-15 (Boys) on Saturday, December 12 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium annex 2.

The match was the premier league side 7th Pre-Season friendly which ended 1:3 in favour of the talented U-15 boys of Nyohini based Tamale CFC.

The boys proved their dominance over the female side by taking full control of the midfield from the blast of the whistle producing one goal in the first half.

The second half also came with a spectacular performances from both teams with a number of harsh tackles from both sides.

The boys showed some supremacy over their female counterparts after capitalizing on a defensive and goalkeeping errors to take control of the match in terms of goals scoring.

A late penalty for the home side, Northern Ladies Fc saw the goalkeeper, Issahaku Barikisu calmly converted for a consolation goal after Tamale CFC had already registered 3 goals, making the final score 1:3 in favour of the visitors, CFC U-15 boys.

The head coach of female side, Northern Ladies Fc, Sumani Basirudeen was happy to see his team played a very tough side. This he said can go a long way to prepare his girls mentally and physically ahead of the new season’s campaign.

Few weeks back, Northern Ladies FC faced the U-13 boys of the same club which ended 1:0 in favour of the Sky Blue Ladies.

The women’s premier league side is currently preparing for the women’s national League which is rescheduled to commence at the weekend of Friday, January 15, 2021 to Monday, January 18, 2021.
