Women’s Premier League side, Northern Ladies Fc engaged women’s Division One league club, Fc Young Queens in a pre-season friendly match on Thursday, 19th November, 2020 at Gumani Forrest Park, Tamale, the home grounds of Fc Young Queens. The park was full of fans and spectators who really enjoyed themselves as a result of the good display by both teams.
Fc Young Queens took the lead on the 41st minute through Baby Jet’s wonderful free kick that found the back of the net. Coach Iddrisu Napari’s side gave Northern Ladies Fc a very tough time in the first half of the match with their tireless runs and tough tackles. Players such as Wasima, Rashida and baby Jet were on top form for the home side, Fc Young Queens helping them to end the first half with a 1 0 lead.

On the 67th minute, Torkudzor Fredrica got the equalizer for the visitors, Northern Ladies Fc by capitalizing on the error committed by the goalkeeper of Fc Young Queens.
The head coach of Northern Ladies Fc, Sumani Basiru Deen made a tactical change which brought much strength to his side making them to push so hard for a winner in the dying embers of the match. Several scoring opportunities were created by Northern Ladies, unfortunately, none of those opportunities could turn into the needed goal.
Northern Ladies Fc tried so hard to play beautiful football but the sandy and undulated nature of the field didn’t allow them to do so. Alhassan Fakiha was seen to be the player of the match as her performance in the match was superb. She has been a consistent performer for Northern Ladies in the three friendly matches they played so far.
However, Northern Ladies Fc played the match without two of their key players, Abdulai Mukarama and Jafar Rahama who are currently with Coach Yussif Basigi’s Black Princesses in camp.
Northern Ladies Fc is preparing for the 2020/2021 Women’s Premier League scheduled to start on January 2, 2020.
