Women’s Football : Northern Ladies Fans Player of the Month Nominees for the Month of April, 2021.

Northern Ladies enjoyed an average performance in the month of April with good inputs from some players. There was no much shortage of impressive performers as the entire squad members continue to contribute to the good form of the club.

However, the Fans see the following four players to be outstanding in the month of April, 2021 and have nominated them for the Fans Player Award.

1. Amenyeku Afi

The Shot Stopper was brought into the club from Division One side, Tamale Super Ladies in the last transfer window. She has since taken over the Goalkeepers role in the starting XI. The young goalkeeper put up 5-star performances in all the matches in the month under review, keeping two clean sheets in the month April, 2021 ie against Prisons Ladies and Pearlpia Ladies.
Her outstanding performance was not overlooked as she was awarded the NASCO MVP in Northern Ladies 0-0 drawn match against Prisons Ladies from Sunyani.

Amenyeku Afi – GK

2. Korankye Gladys:

Gladys has been in superb form since the beginning of the season. But her performance in the four matches under review is second to none. She was able to prevent every dangerous
attacker from the opposing side from causing any damage to Northern Ladies.
Her clearances were good. Her timely interceptions were
fantastic and aerial duels were worthy of praises. The tall lanky and calm center back always receive applause from both fans and Technical Team members during matches. Gladys contributed largely to the good performance of Northern Ladies in the month of April, 2021.

Korankye Gladys – CB

3. Doris Akaheeh Afafa

The captain of the club returned from a long term injury and has surprised so many people with her performance in the month of April, 2021. Usually, players from long term injuries struggle to find their form back. But that was not the case of Doris Afafa.
The central midfielder played the entire durations of the four matches in the month under review winning the NASCO MVP of the Match award once in the process, ie against Ashtown Ladies. Afafa’s wonderful performance has seen coach Sumani Bashirudeen used her in different positions in the month of April, 2021.

Doris Akaheeh – CM

4. Amoako Dorothy,

Amoako Dorothy helped Northern maintain their defensive record as the club conceded only 2 goals in four matches.
She played four times and delivered a number of assured performances at the heart of defence.
As a right back, she had been a cover to the center backs as well as the right wing forward and the midfielders.
She is very strong on the ball with good tackling and crossing abilities, and always difficult to be taken on by opposing attackers.
