Women’s Football: Alhassan Basira salvaged a point for Pearlpia Ladies in March Day 1

The National Women U17 midfielder, Alhassan Basira scored an equalizing goal from a spot kick to give the home side, Pearlpia Ladies one point at home on March Day 1.

Pearlpia Ladies opened their Women’s Premier League campaign on Saturday, 16th January, 2021 at home to Fabulous Ladies from Ashanti Region.

Agnes Aduako opened the scoring for the visitors to force Pearlpia Ladies into a hard fought match for an equalizer which eventually came through a spot kick.

Coach Abdulai Abdul-Mumin’s side were keen to register a win in the opening match of the 2020-2021 season but the goal from the visitors through Agnes caused his disappointment.

The head coach brought in Abdul Rashid Faiza to replace Shahadu Rashida on the 55th minute and Mercy Amorko Tagoe to replace Abdul Rahaman Samira on the 67th minutes just to secure a win in the first match but the strength of the visitors denied him the maximum points.

Fabulous Ladies are happy with the one point While Pearlpia Ladies are disappointed.

Pearlpia Ladies is full of determined and experience players who have represented Ghana at the various national team levels.

Konlan Fiindib Cynthia was adjudged the Nasco Player of the match.

2020/2021 league champions will get the opportunity to represent Ghana in the innuagural CAF Women’s Champions League.

Pearlpia Ladies will travel to Techiman to face Ampem Darkwa ladies at the weekend.
