Women’s Football: Dahinsheli Ladies Management member donates to the club
The operations manager of Kalpohini based women Division One League side, Dahinsheli Ladies Fc, Madam Meimunatu Tahiru has donated a set of jersey and Cartons of drinking Water to the Club as part of her effort to push the club forward. Female soccer clubs in Northern Region and Ghana at large are handicapped in resources and heavily rely on the support of benevolent persons like Madam Meimunatu Tahiru to survive. Madam Mimi as she is affectionately called was once a footballer and understands what is involved in the game.
The management of the club could not hide their excitement for the kind gesture shown by Madam Mimi. They expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the former student of UDS for the love shown to them. The operations manager was accompanied by her husband to the grounds to do the presentation.
Speaking after the presentation, Madam Mimi gave the players words of encouragement for their football career but advised them to also take their education very serious. She charged the girls to keep on working very hard, both in football and in education so they can also get to where she is or even beyond. She assured Dahinsheli Ladies for further support.
Dahinsheli Ladies are currently playing in the ongoing Northern Regional Women’s Division One League. They have not had a good run in league though. They played 8 matches, won 1, drawn 2, lost 5 and on 9th position on the league log with 5pts. But with the support of many, the club can still put the pieces together to come back strongly for the Second Round of the league.
Dahinshali ladies were the champions of Northern Region in the 2015/2016 division one league season but couldn’t make it to the Ghana Women’s Premier League due to their failure in the middle league.
