Women’s Premier League side Pearlpia Ladies shall on Saturday play host to Bagabaga Ladies FC at the Utrecht Park in the MTN FA Cup Preliminary stage.

Bagabaga Ladies FC have been doing well for almost a decade now, and have been fighting to get Promotion to the Women’s Premier League.

They have a strong squad which makes them one of the favourites to qualify for the Premiership. They have a good number of national team players in the team, notably among them are; Black Maidens striker Abdulai Salamatu Nte, Black Maidens goalkeeper Ziblim Farihana and Yahaya Asana who also plays for the Black Maidens team.

Captain of the side, Iddrisu Iklima is one of the outstanding players, with her versatility making her a threat to her opponents.

Pearlpia Ladies are also a good side with so many National team players in their squad who are of good quality. The last time the two sides met was a pre-season encounter, with Pearlpia Ladies thrashing Bagabaga Ladies 6-0 at the same venue.

It will be an interesting game to watch, with both teams trying to move to the next stage of the competition.

For Pearlpia Ladies, a win will ease the pressure on them a little considering their overall performance this season. Head coach Baba Nuhu Malam must be worried about the growing inability of his side to win matches despite having the quality players most of whom are in the National teams.

They have won one match from the last 12 games, drawing six and losing four and still awaits GFA’s Decision on their game against Northern Ladies which ended abruptly as a result of fans invasion.

They lost their last Premier League game 2-0 against Ashtown Ladies which place them 7th just a step above last placed team Fabulous Ladies.

It will be a difficult game for Baba Nuhu Malam’s side taking into consideration the abilities of Bagabaga Ladies forward Abdulai Salamatu Nte. She was the leading scorer in the last Unity games played at Kumbungu and was also on target in the Black Maidens qualifying win against Liberia.

The game is scheduled to kickoff at 3:00PM at the Utrecht Park.
