Jafar Rahama, Northern Ladies won the 2021 Women’s FA CUP top scorer award after netting 9 goals in the competition. The sharp skillful winger scored 5 goals in Northern Ladies 8-1 victory against Zidcom Ladies at Paga Park and also scored four goals in the 5 0 win against Fc Savanah at Aliu Mahama Stadium, Tamale.
However, Northern Ladies was knocked out of the Competition in the quarter finals when they lost 2 0 to the eventual winners, Hasaacas Ladies in Takoradi. But that didn’t prevent Jafar Rahama from winning the top scorer award. Hasaacas Ladies beat Ampem Darkoa Ladies on Saturday, 3rd July, 2021 to win the FA Cup trophy.
Jafar Rahama performed very well in the 2021 Premier League as well. She ended the season as third highest scorer with 8 goals behind Milot Pokua of Hasaacas Ladies with 12 goals and Ophelia Serwaah Amponsah of Ampem Darkoa who ended the season as top scorer with 17 goals. The pacy winger, Jafar Rahama also won NASCO MVP awards twice in the season and was a nominee for NASCO player of the month on two occasions but won none.
Speaking to a reporter of sportsmrnews.com via phone call after receiving the award, Jafar Rahama expressed her happiness for winning the award and dedicate the award to her club’s management team, technical team and the playing body for their immeasurable support throughout the season.
