Ghana National U-20 team, the Black Satellites have made it to the finals of the ongoing WAFU Zone B tournament in Benin after beating Niger in the Semi-final match by 5-3 on penalties on Tuesday, 15th December, 2020.
Tamale Utrecht Football Academy player, Alhassan Uzair had a fantastic game, lasting the entire duration of the match.
Though he was played out of his favorite position (CB) he still flourished in the match. The young chap was used as a right back instead of his usual center back role. However, it was not surprising as he was used in that new position in Ghana’s match against Ivory Coast on Sunday. His outstanding performance in the match against Ivory Coast made coach Karim Zito to put another trust in the tough tackling defender by handing him a place in his starting team which he would never regret doing.
The former captain of Ghana national U-17 team, Alhassan Uzair proved his worthy by putting up a very good performance in the match against Niger. He won several tales, made some good runs on the right flung and also produced many recoveries that denied the opposition wing players the spaces to operate.
Ghana will meet Burkina Faso in the finals of the competition. However, the Black Satellites have secured a qualification for the 2021 Africa U-20 Youth Championship to be staged in Mouritania later next year.
