Volleyball : U-15 Gala Matches Held In Maluwe; S/R Executives tasked Athletes To Be Discipline and Dedicated.
A one day basic Under 15 volleyball Gala tournament was held at Maluwe in the Bole District of the Savannah region on the 6th of February 2021 with strict covid-19 protocols followed by participating schools.
Mandari, Seripe, Dabouyiri, Simariyiri and Maluwe were communities in the Bole District that presented both sex to battle for the ultimate trophies.
A spirited performance from Mandari Boys saw them beat Dabouyiri in the boys final to win the boys trophy whiles Simariyiri girls defended the girls trophy as they won it back to back.
Medals and Certificates were presented to best outstanding performers as Master Daleka Bediako from Seripe emerged best player and madam Juliana Membaar Cherebou being the best female player.
The tournament was heavily graced by Executives of the Savannah region volleyball Association and the AG.Sports director of Savannah region.
Addressing the sports girls and boys were the president of the Savannah region VOLLEYBALL Association Mr Nyadia Frank Alhassan as he elaborated the benefits of volleyball, according to him VOLLEYBALL can make students at the basic level gain admission to higher levels in the education sector. He also used the occasion to encourage team coaches to back themselves up with coaching courses.
He finally tasked the interim Executives to form a unique Bole District VOLLEYBALL Association that can help them seek financial support from corporate bodies and the District Assembly as a known body.
The AG.Sports director of Savannah region Mr Ibrahim Alhassan Jihad asked the organisers of the competition to start preparing a select side that will represent Bole District in Damongo as plans are underway for basic inter-district games in June 2021.
Other members of the VOLLEYBALL Association present were ( Mr Iddrisu Sumani) vice president and Mr Saaka Ibrahim (Member).
Seripe is expected to host the 3rd Edition in about 2 months time.
Meanwhile the organizers are using the gala games to nature young talents to represent Bole District interms of VOLLEYBALL amidst the several challenges they go through.
