UNITY GAMES : Real Tamale United Attacker, Yakubu Labandoo donates to Yendi Gbewaa Ladies FC.
Yakubu Labandoo affectionately called ‘Computer’ earlier today Thursday, 23rd 2021 donated two cartons of Malta Guinness and a carton of Voltic mineral water to Yendi Gbewaa Ladies FC. The team is taking part in the Northern Regional Women’s Soccer Unity games in Savelugu.
The young talented forward forms an integral part of Real Tamale United’s current successes, his inputs for the club is immeasurable, he ended the division one league last season as the second highest scorer for the club with 6 goals, scoring in the season’s opener against Kintampo FC which ended 1-0, as if that was not enough, he then fired in two crucial goals against Kenyasi Unity FC which all but confirmed RTU’s candidacy in the Ghana Premier League.
In 2020,the young goal-poacher earned a call up to the U-20 national team (Black Satellites) for his incredible 7 goals in the Normalization Committee (NMC) Special Competition for Yendi Gbewaa FC.
His debut campaign in the GPL is currently marred by injuries, which saw him missed out in their 1-1impressive away draw to heavyweights Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and a 2-0 home win against Elmina Sharks.
He came on as a substitute yesterday in their 4-2 penalty shootout victory over Dreams Tamale in the round 64 of the MTN FA Cup.
Labandoo willingness to give back to society motivated him to travel down to Savelugu from Tamale to donate to his home club Gbewaa Ladies FC.
The team have played four games so far, won 1 game, drew 1, lost 2 but are currently protesting against Banvim Ladies FC for not paying the affiliation fee before taken part in the tournament.
He advised the girls to be serious in what they are doing as it could go a long way to helping them, their family and the community as a whole.
“I will like to encourage you to work hard in this field, take your training seriously and listen to the little advice your coaches and management gives to you.
This little things will help flourish your career, and one day yourself, family and the communities each and everyone of you comes from shall be a beneficiary to that great success” Labandoo said.

Head coach, Mohammed Hamza on behalf of the club wishes him well and prayed for Allah’s mercy and guidance on the forward through out his career.
He said: ” On behalf of management, I will like to thank you for what you have done for us today, we pray to Allah to protect you from this recurring injuries, may he grant you all that you wish for and also protect you from all obstacles that could deny you a chance to make it to Europe”
