The former coach of Fc Tanga and Tamale Utrecht Academy was the assistant coach of the Black Satellites team that won the Afcon U-20 Championship in Mauritania earlier this year. His support to his boss Karim Zito was not overlooked as he was reappointed again on Tuesday to assist his superior boss.
Coach Salifu Fatawu after their interaction, presented a signed national team Jersey to His Royal Highness for everything he has done for him throughout his coaching career.
Salifu Fatawu ‘’Kiyoyo’’ as he is popularly called, is one of such selfless coaches who has dedicated his time to developing football talents right from the grassroots level in the region. He is a household name in the Upper East Region.
Coach Salifu is poised for greatness in this coaching job as he has already nurtured so many players in his region to become professionals.
Notable among them are former Ghana U20 player David Atanga who now plays professional football with Bundesliga 2 side Holstein Kiel, Eric Warden of Albanian Topflight side KF Luftetari, USA based Akampeke George and the 2019 Rexona Champion Adombila Shadrack.
