U-20 AFCON: Samuel Eto’o son score brace to prove his doubters wrong

Etienne Eto’o the son of Cameroon and African Legend Samuel Eto’o scored two goals in his debut match for the Cameroon U-20 side, during Yesterday’s 4:1 win over Mozambique in their final group A match.

It was a perfect response to questions over whether he earned his place on the strength of his own abilities or simply because of his Father.

A presidential decree prohibited the selection of young expatriates in any age group below U-17 saw him kicked out of their U-17 Afcon squad. But he has attained age 18 and and is due to play for the country of his father’s birth.

The Oviedo U-19 striker got a call up just few hours before the opening game of the tournament and was handed jersey number 10.

He was an unused substitute in Cameroons opening two games, after a long wait to represent his country, he was handed his debut yesterday against Mozambique.

The young striker scored a stunning free kick to announce his presence, he made it double from the penalty spot minutes before half time.
He also turned provider in the second half, to send a signal to his doubters that he got his place based on merit.
