TMFA Division Three League, 2022: Falcons FC Crowned Champions
Airforce Based Falcons FC crowned champions of the 2022 Division Three League of Tamale Metro Football Association. The Coronation Ceremony took place at the Airforce Base Park, Bawa Barracks, Mile 9 on Saturday, 16th July, 2022. There was a Ceremonial Match between the Champions, Falcons Fc and guest team, Kaladan City Fc which ended in a 2-2 draw.
The champions, Falcons Fc was presented a trophy, five footballs and cash prize of Ghc 500. The runners up, Noble Stars Fc also went home with three footballs.
In attendance of the coronation ceremony was Alhaj Abu Hassan Mahamadu Rhyzo, Chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association, Mr. Abdul-Aziz Ramzy, Chairman of Tamale Metro Football Association, Mr. Muazu Choo, member of the Northern Regional Sports Development Team, Squadron Leader and many others.
Speaking at the event, Alhaj Abu Hassan Mahamudu Rhyzo, Chairman of Northern Regional Football Association urged Falcons Fc to beef up their squad by looking outside the military for more quality players. However, he confirmed that Falcons Fc will have to engage in playoffs to gain qualification into the Division Two League.
Alhaj Rhyzo again cautioned the team to be law abiding as the laws of the game would not spare them if they foul to any of the laws despite that they are soldiers, in case they make it into the Division Two League.
The NRFA Chairman, Alhaj Rhyzo who is also a member of the Ghana National U-20 team, the Black Satellites did the presentation of the Trophy to Falcons Fc and also rewarded match officials. He again identified eight players from both sides that were very impressive in the match and rewarded them Ghc400. The media committee of Tamale Metro Football Association was not also left out of the RFA Chairman’s kind gesture.
