Ten-man Steadfast fc see off Bofoakwa Tano to move another inch to Premiership Promotion.

Mohammed Gargo’s Steadfast fc display another scintillating performance with a 2-0 win over Bofoakwa Tano at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Steadfast fc without their talisman Abdul Fataw Issahaku struggled to keep the ball, allowing their opponents to dictate the play in the early part of the game.

With Bofoakwa Tano’s growing pressure on their opponents, they were awarded a penalty kick after a Steadfast player handled the ball in the 18 yard box. Welbeck Takyi step out to take the kick thanks to the save hands of Steadfast fc goalkeeper, Mohammed Abdul Ganiu who made a fine save to keep his side still in the game.

Moments later, Steadfast too was awarded a penalty after a hand ball in the penalty area. Mohammed Sheriff without making a mistake fired a powerful shot which went past the the goalkeeper to give his side the lead.

But few minutes after opening the scoring, Steadfast fc midfielder Abass was shown a a yellow which sent him out of the game on the 30th monute of the first half.

Steadfast FC hold on to their lead with the ten men until the half time whistle was blown. The fisrt half ended 1-0 for the home team.

In the early minutes of the second half, Bofoakwa tried to make use of their numerical advantage by sending almost all their men on attack, but the home side were calm and never give them the chance to get the equalizer.

Coach Gargo brought in Alhassan Siisu, the third leading scorer in the zone to strengthen his attack. Few moments later, Alhassan Siisu announced his presence by cleverly controlling a superb pass from from Moro Iddrisu and send the ball into the net to make it two for the home team.

Steadfast game wasn’t impressive today as compared to their previous games perhaps because of the strong opposition. But the most important thing was the win, which has send them to the top of the table.

Coach Mohammed Gargo will be so happy about the results especially against a team like Bofoakwa who has been impressive all season.

A Maiden qualification awaits Steadfast Fc, but they will have to work out the negatives and improve on their midfield which wasn’t in good shape today’s game against Bofoakwa.

Goalkeeper Abdul Ganiu was very impressive, making a fine save from the penalty spot to denied Welbeck Takyi from getting a goal.

One other player that can’t be left out is Mohammed Sheriff who opened the scoring from the penalty spot. He was exceptional in defense, upon all the pressure from the away team, he helped his team mates to keep Welbeck Takyi mute in the game especially during the second half.

The win now has Steadfast occupying the top spot with 37 points.

A Premier League qualification awaits Gargo and his men, it was an exciting game at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium and a good results for Steadfast fc.

They will hope their current form continues in the next coming weeks as they plan to surge their rage on any team that stands to block them from making their maiden appearance in the Ghanaian topflight.

Steadfast fc travel to face B.A United on Sunday in their match day 19.
