DOL: Techiman City failed to show up in Wa for their game against R.T.U
Techiman City as earlier purported failed to show up to honor their match day 16 fixture against Real Tamale United at the Wa Sports Stadium.
The team on Friday had written to the GFA to inform them about their inability to honour the game, sighting financial difficulties as their soul reason for their inability to honour the game.
The team has been punished for allowing their fans to threaten match Officials in their match day 15 fixture against Tamale City which ended abruptly in the first half. Before the Referee called for an end of the game in the first half, Tamale City FC were leading them by a goal.
Their home venue which is the Ohene Ameyaw Park was subsequently suspended by the GFA and were directed to play their home game against RTU at the Wa Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The team in a letter sighted by sportsmrnews.com said they cannot honour the game against Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium or Wa Sports Stadium due to financial difficulties.
Per the reports we gathered, Real Tamale United were today in Wa for the game and even attended the pre- match conference but the home team did not show up.
Our sources further disclosed that at exactly 3:30pm which is 30 minutes after kickoff, that it was only RTU in the field which per the GFA rules prompted the referee to whistle for an end of the game, which could hand the away team all the three maximum points in addition to three goals.
