Tamale Steadfast Fc attacker, Abdul Fataw Issahaku scores a thunderbolt to help Ghana win their Group C opener against Tanzania
The Tamale based Division One Club, Steadfast fc has produced one of the great finishers in the country. He is a dribbling machine and a prolific goal scorer, and also a set piece specialist.
Fataw scored a wonderful goal on the 31st minute just around the centre to double the Black Satellites lead at halftime, against Tanzania after Percious Boah had given Ghana the lead earlier. Two more goals in the second half from Percious Boah and Joselpho Barnes gaved the three times U-20 Champions a comfortable four goals win.
Abdul Fataw Issahaku is a former Tamale Utrecht player who joined Steadfast fc in 2019. He has been consistent in his performance for the club in the division one league. The club is currently fourth on the table after seven games.
He also represented Ghana at the U-17 championship in Niger. He recently captained the U-17 team to the WAFU Zone B Championship in Togo where he scored against Nigeria to earn Ghana a draw. His great performance in today’s game earn him the Man of the Match award.
Should his consistency be kept, he could be given a call up by Black Stars Coach C.K Akunnor.
Coach Karim Zito will hope the boys keep this performance as he wants to make it four for Ghana. Ghana previously won the trophy in 1993, 1999 and in 2009 where they went on to win the U-20 World Cup for the first time. It has been the only time an African country lift the trophy.
Ghana is in group C for the ongoing Afcon U-20 Championship in Mauritania.
