Tamale Division One League Clubs win on match day 7 to Mount pressure on Berekum Arsenals and Bofoakwa Tano
The Zone One table of the division one continues to take shape as all Tamale base clubs won their matches. Real Tamale United away unbeaten run continues as they beat Paga Crocodiles Stars by 0:1 in the Paga town park.
It was a must win game for the Pride of the north considering their failure to win their last three game. They lost to rivals Tamale City, drawing against Nsoatreman FC and also drawing their outstanding fixture against Techiman City FC.
Mohammad Nawaz first half goal was enough to win the game for Coach Shaibu Tanko’s men, which put them in a strong contention for the Premiership slot.
The win also mounted pressure on table leaders Berekum Arsenals who had 17 points, RTU only trail them by three points which has kept them 3rd place on the table just behind Berekum Arsenals and Bofoakwa Tano.
Tamale City FC also won away from home after coming from a 2:0 goals down to win 2:3 against Wa Suntaa fc at the Malik Jabel Park. The win also moved Coach Hamza Mohammed men to sixth place on the table. They are four points behind the leaders Berekum Arsenals.
Hamza Mohammed will have to worked out the negatives at Wa before their next fixture.
The other Tamale based club to announce their intentions to battle for the Premiership slot was Tamale Steadfast Fc, who won 2:1 against Unity fc. Coach Mohammed Gargo’s men had to fight hard to win that game, an early two goals from Mohammed Sherif and Alhassan Siisu ensures Steadfast lead at half time, but a goal from Ebenezer Oteng in the early exchanges of the second half makes it tough for Gargo’s men.
But thanks to their strong resistance, the game ended 2:1 in favour of the Tamale club which help them to mount to fouth on the table.
Should this form of the Tamale clubs continues this way, the competition as to who takes the slot will be tough.
