Tamale derby: Steadfast Fc to host Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Sports Tamale derby
Match day 13 in zone one of the division one league will saw a derby game between Steadfast Fc and Real Tamale United. The week is poised to be a difficult one for the two clubs as they both are having a good chance of making it to the Premiership should their current performances be maintained.
Mohammed Gargo’s Steadfast Fc are currently occupying 3rd on the league standings and trail leaders their opponents for Sunday’s game with only a point.
They are so far the leading scoring team in the zone with 20 goals and conceding nine.
They have a young attacking team with Black Stars and U-20 star player Fataw Issahaku leading the attack with his sensational strikes and dribblings. He is joined by Alhassan Siisu who currently is the second leading scorer in the zone with seven goals just two goals behind Welbeck Takyi of Bofoakwa Tano who has nine goals. Abu Abdullah and defender Mohammed Sheriff are also doing well for Gargo’s men as they all have three goals each.
Even in the absence of their Star man Abdul Fataw Issahaku, the team managed to win six matches in eight games, they have been a good side without him. He won’t be available for tomorrow’s game either as he has been given a call up to the Black Stars team.
But with Siisu and Abu Abdullah available and their iconic Mohammed Sheriff, it will still prove to be a difficult side for Shaibu Tanko’s RTU.
Real Tamale United has also been phenomenal this season, as they have managed to win seven games, drawing three and losing twice in the league so far.
Coach Shaibu Tanko’s side has been been boosted lately with the addition of Ronald Frimpong from Nzema Kotoko. He has scored three goals and provided one assist in his first three games for the club.
Mohammed Sadat has also been great for the Pride of the north as he has also scored three times. Nawaz and Dandawa are all great players to star in Saturdays game.
The team has also made twelve signings during the second transfer window and it will be difficult to predict the starting lineup for Shaibu Tanko’s men as he may give an instant start to some of them.
Should Ronald Frimpong finds his way to play like how he did against B.A United, it would be a disaster for Gargo’s men.
The game will be an all out battle for the two sides as they both sets an eye on the Premiership.
A win for Real Tamale United will still see them maintained their position at the top of the table, and should Steadfast also win, they could also occupy the first spot defending on the results of the other league centers.
