Tamale Steadfast FC return home to play against third placed Bofoakwa Tano at the Aliu Mahama Stadium. Steadfast FC are currently on second place in the Zone One table with 34 points, level with Bofoakwa Tano after 17 matches.

The visitors climbed to third place courtesy a 3-0 victory against city rivals B.A United at the Coronation Park on Sunday. This sets up an exciting top of the table clash mid-week in Tamale.

Real Tamale United maintained their position at the top thanks due to a 0-0 draw against Nkoranza Worriors on Saturday at the Nkoranza Children’s Park.

The game is poised to be a tough contest between the two and could be a determining factor for either sides possible chances of qualifying for the Premiership.

Steadfast FC are currently in an electrifying form, they have been consistent in producing great results all season. Though they had a poor start of the first round, Coach Mohammed Gargo managed to bring in stability into the team which necessitated the sudden turn in performance of the Zebra boys.

They ended the first round with nine wins, three draws with three defeats, but are yet to be defeated in their first two games of the second round.

Ghana U-20 Star Abdul Fataw Issahaku has been a great material for Gargo’s men, his performance are extraordinary.
Fataw has scored eight goals in seven matches, has provided six assist and won five MVP awards.

Fataw opened the scoring against Berekum Arsenals last weekend before his compatriot in the goal scoring gong race, Ansu Kofi Patrick equalized to put his side on levelled.

Fataw’s growing confidence and his consistency in scoring could be a great threat to the hunters especially when he is playing at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium. Fatawu’s presence in today’s encounter is a doubt as the young has accumulated three yellow cards.

Welbeck Takyi is a player to watch in this game too, he made headlines in the Ghanaian media land scape with his seven goals in the opening five games of the season, he was invited to the provisional Black Stars squad.
The young man is currently the joint top scorer in the zone with 11 goals to his name.
And will be a great worry to coach Gargo and his Zebra boys.

Alhassan Siisu is another player forming the trident attack of Steadfast Fc, he led the team to greatness when Abdul Fataw Issahaku was on national duty,he has scored nine goals so far with one MVP award.
His combination with Fataw and Abu Abdullah is fearsome, their link up has made them a worry for opposition defenders.

The three attackers in combine has scored 21 goals, nine for Siisu, eight for Abdul Fataw and four for Abu Abdullah.

Both teams has got a solid defense, with the away team conceding 8 goals and Steadfast conceding 11.
The away teams defense is been led by Issah Nyabilla, he has been of great help to the hunters with his clearances and heading out air balls to prevent opposition attackers from scoring.
He is no doubt one of the best central defenders in the country.
How prepared will he be to face the fearsome attack of Steadfast, well after the 90 minutes, this question shall be well answered.

Talking of Issah Nyabilla, he has his replica in the Steadfast team in the person of Mohammed Sheriff, Sheriff is one of the great talents you can ever think of in Zone One. An all round player, he plays in different positions, as a CM, LB, RB and a CD.

He has also been good in front of goal, Sheriff has so far registered four goals. Stopping Welbeck Takyi in this important game will be a task he will want live up to.

A victory for coach Mohammed Gargo’s men will see them level on points with Real Tamale United.

Tamale haven’t had a representative in the Premier League since RTU were relegated in 2013, and winning this game will be a step closer to making their maiden appearance in the Ghanaian topflight.

All eyes will be on this game today, it will be an exciting game to watch today at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium. As both teams wants to take the bragging rights in their quest to qualify to the Ghanaian topflight.
