S/R : Savannah Region to get a 50,000 seater capacity stadium.
Information gathered by sportsmrnew.com revealed that Savannah Region will soon get a 50, 000 seater capacity Stadium.
The edifice, our source disclosed will be situated in Damongo, the regional capital.
A 20 acre land has already been secured for the project.
Speaking at stakeholders meeting on Sports Development in Damongo on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, Assistant Planning Officer at the West Gonja Municipal Assembly, Mr Umar Hussein, said the project has been given to a Consultant for further advice.
It is however unclear when the project shall be awarded to a contractor for the actual work to begin.
The site for the stadium was earlier earmarked for an Astro Turf under government’s ‘one constituency one Astro Turf’ program as part of government’s efforts to improve sports infrastructure in the country.
The Astro Turf sportsmrnew.com understands will be moved to Larabanga, a community in the West Gonja Municipality.
