Savannah Region : Regional Tennis Association has been duly Inaugurated

The Savannah Regional Tennis Association was inaugurated on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Conference Hall of the Regional Coordinating Council. The ceremony was graced by heads of various institutions including representatives from the security services.
Speaking at the event,
the National Sports Authority (NSA) Director, Mr Alhassan Ibrahim Jihad welcomed all members to the inaugural ceremony and assured the new executives of his outfit’s support to the association in whatever capacity.
He revealed that, the tennis association is the fifth association to be outdoored out of the eight constituted in the region
On his part, Chairman of the Savannah Regional Sports Committee, Mr Alhassan Adam entreated the association to work hand in hand with his committee to develop the discipline in the region just like others.
He said tennis is a life long sports which can be played by all and must be taken seriously. He also stressed on the inclusive nature of the discipline which can be adapted to enable people living with disability play and enjoy the game.
Mr Adam urged the new executive committee to extend the sports across the region and allow participants to play and develop in the game to become professionals.
Respresenting the Regional Education Director, Mr Mark Amadu Iddrisu, who is the Regional P E Coordinator welcomed the association to the region and prayed that the association will partner with GES to introduce the discipline in schools to harness potentials in the field
The new executives were sworn into office by Mr Alhassan Adam, Chairman of the Savannah Regional sports Sports Committee.
The committee shall be chaired by Mr Diaka Salifu, and will be assisted by A S I Larry Addai of the Ghana Immigration Service
Mr Abramani Abudu is the Secretary. Madam Pearl Makafui Mamah is the Organizer and, Mr Mubarik Issahaku is the Treasurer.
