Sad Reality: Neglect of Ghana’s First Female CAF License ‘A’ Holder, Hajia Zelia Iddi

Hajia Zelia Iddi, the first Ghanaian female to achieve a CAF License ‘A,’ has been disregarded by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Despite her significant contributions as a coach for the Northern Regional Second Cycle Female football team and her status as Chairperson of the Northern Region Women’s football committee, the GFA has consistently overlooked her in favor of younger female coaches.

Latest appointment from GFA

Despite her pioneering role in women’s soccer, having been instrumental in starting women’s football in Tamale, Northern Region, in 1991, Hajia Zelia Iddi has not received the recognition she deserves from the GFA. This neglect was evident in the recent appointments for national team coaching positions, where she was conspicuously absent from consideration.
