S/R: Tamale Eagles Volleyball club outclassed Damongo Magic Fingers again in Damongo on Saturday

Damongo volleyball team, the Magic Fingers failed to redeem themselves after they lose narrowly to Tamale Eagles Volleyball club in an existing volleyball encounter played in Damongo on Saturday, 3rd October, 2020 in the Savannah Region of Ghana

The Savannah side came into the game for a revenge after losing in two previous encounters with the Eagles.

The Magic Fingers started the game on a bad foot after giving away the 1st set with a scores of 29-27

The home side could still not put their pieces together and lose the 2nd set with a 25-22 scoreline

Half way into the 3rd set, the game saw a temporary halt for about ten minutes as some supporters raised red flags about certain decisions taken by the chief umpire

But it took the timely intervention of the Savannah Regional Sports Director, Mr Ibrahim Jihad and the Chairman of the West Gonja Municipal Football Association , Mr Iddrisu Sumani (Action) and some dignitaries to cool down tempers and restored calm for the game to resume

As if the stoppage was a kind of long time out the home team needed, they came back strongly to beat the visitors 27-25 in the 3rd set to make it 3:1

With the home fans by their side, the Magic Fingers showed resilience, determination and a great fighting spirit to tie the 4th set by winning it 25-20

The 5th set was packed with actions and tension but ended 15-11 with Tamale Eagles enjoying the last laugh with a 3:2 win

Speaking with sportsmrnews.com after the match Coach of Tamale Eagles, Mr Ibrahim Abdullah said the game was a good one and that the Damongo team really gave them ‘a good run for their money’

He believed the Magic Fingers had improved a lot since the last time they met in Tamale and hoped for more of such encounters

Fans who witnessed the game left home with mixed reactions.

While some left disappointed, some others were also satisfied with the view that the comeback of the team was great and the performance displayed was superb

Meanwhile in a related development, the Magic Fingers ladies lose 1-4 to Tamale Eagles ladies in the 1st match played on Saturday

This is the 2nd time in a roll the Damongo ladies lose
to the Tamale side after having lose 3-1 to them in Tamale a fortnight ago back
