S/R : Bole District Football Association pays a Courtesy Call on Bolewura

Executive Committee of the Bole District Football Association paid a courtesy call on the paramount chief of the Bole Traditional Area, Bolewura Sarfo Kutege Feso l on Monday, 5th October 2020 at his palace in Bole in the Savannah Region

The visit was part of a familiarization tour to introduce the new executives to the chief and to also inform him about the Association’s plans of activities to develop football in the district

Chairman of the FA who led the delegation to the palace, Mr Ewuntomah Joachim thanked the Bolewura for his support so far in their activities, and revealed the intentions of the Association to initiate a cup competition dubbed “Kutege Feso Cup” in of the honor the King

‘Kutege Feso’ is the chieftaincy title for the Bolewura which literally means the millet that has been transplanted by God, no amount of drought can kill it

The competition is planned to be played annually

The Chairman also appealed to the chief for a parcel of land for the construction of a standardized football pitch in the District.

Mr Joachim further asked the chief for a representative from the palace to represent the traditional authority at their FA meetings.

Bolewura thanked the FA for the visit and welcomed the ideas of the Bole FA

He said his outfit will donate a trophy with inscriptions ‘Kutege Feso cup’ for the purpose of the intended tournament

The Bolewura tasked the football body to survey the area for an appropriate land for the construction of the pitch and says he will ensure the Association and the Bole Assembly work together to develop the land into a football park

“My Football Association Executive, kindly go round Bole, any land you deem fit for a befitting park, come and tell me so that I give you the go ahead for construction. I will see to it that the Bole District Assembly and the Football Association join hands to work on that land”, the Chief revealed.

He recounted how he and the overlord of the Gonjaland Traditional Council, Prof. Yagbonwura Tutumba Boresa l played various roles in the administration of Real Tamale United when the latter was secretary to the club years back

Bolewura chose Alhaji coach Zack, and a yet to be named sub chief to be the palace representatives for the FA meetings

He admonished the Association to appeal for funds to generate income for the running of initial activities of the FA

The familiarization tour will continue in due course to engage other stakeholders
