S/R Athletics: Immigration Officer Donates Running Shoes to Cross Country Winner

Immigration Officer in the Savannah Region, A.S.I. Larry Addai has donated running shoes to the 15yr old Savannah Region Inter District Cross Country winner, Mary Adu Antara, from the Bole District.
This is in fulfilment of a promise made by the security officer after the maiden edition of the Savannah Region Inter District Cross Country Competition in Damongo last year.
In December, 2021, the 15 year old Dibouyuri D/A primary school chap put up a brilliant performance to complete the 10km race within a time of 37:09:01seconds to emerge as the winner, in bear foot
Elated and touched by little girl’s performance, A.S.I. Addai promised to get the young athlete some running shoe.
This came to reality when the team started camping at Ndewura Jakpa Senior High Technical School in preparation for the national championship slated for 24th February, 2022, at Akim Oda in the Western Region.
Presenting the sandals to the athlete on behalf of A.S.I Addai, , Chairman of Savannah Regional Sports Committee, Mr Alhassan Adam thanked the officer for the kind gesture and encouraged the athlete and her colleagues to be serious and discipline for the upcoming event.
This is the third time the region shall be taking part in the national event having taken part in the last two editions in Ajumako and Sefwi Wiawso in 2020 and 2021 respectively
