RTU Board honors Vice President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia

The Board of Directors of Ghana Premier League new comers, Real Tamale United on Sunday, 1st August, 2021 honoured the second gentle man of the land, His Excellency Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia with a citation.

Real Tamale United gained promotion back to the Ghana Top-Flight football for the first time in 8 years.
The club on Sunday was officially crowned Champions of Zone One with a trophy and a cash prize of ¢50, 000 at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Reading the citation after the conferment of the honour, the Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Shani who is the chief Patron of the club, stated that “The Chief Patron, board, management, technical team players and supporters of Real Tamale United wish to Present this citation to your Excellency Dr. Mahamuda Bawumia”

Continuing, The regional minister stated “The board and other stakeholders have been impressed by your immense financial, immoral and logistical support which propelled the club back into the elite division of Ghana football.
Your excellency you are a true “Wey Una” a committed one who defied all odds to support your childhood club to glory.
Without your support the success of the club would have been a mirage. You are an example of a true son of the North and did not just say it but also exhibited it for the love of the Pride of the North” Your excellency, “Ti Pagya”.

The Veep has been of great support to the team financially, he has donated a huge sum of money to gear R.T.U to reach this historical feat, he has donated not less than ¢300, 000 to support the club, recently among them was when he donated ¢100, 000 to the club through his aids.

Not withstanding his political position in the country, the Vice President has regularly been updating the achievement of the club on his personal social media walls.
