Real Tamale United whitewash 2nd Division Side, Tamale Utrecht Academy in a club friendly

BetPawa Premier League side, Real Tamale United as part of the club preparations to keep the playing body in shape as they await for the resumption of the League, played a friendly match against Tamale Utrecht Academy at the NOBISCO Park on Wednesday, 5th October, 2022.
The “Pride of the North” beat the 2nd Division side 3-1 to record their first win of the friendly games after the league was suspended. RTU goals came through the boots of Dankwa Stephen, Mustapha Fuseini and Michael Japaa.
The Premier League side looked brilliant on the day creating more opportunities and defending so well.
Coach Baba Nuhu Malam will continue to assess his team with these matches before the Premier League resumes. RTU will face City rivals Tamale City when the league eventually return.
RTU lost 1-2 to Steadfast Football Club in their first friendly match at the same venue last Sunday and are looking forward to playing more of such matches.
RTU started the league poorly with just a point after match day 3. The Head Coach attributed the poor start to luck of meeting the technical requirement of a minimum of eight weeks pre-season preparation and the suspension of the league is an opportunity for the coach to make it up.
