Qatar 2022 WC Qualifiers : Baba Rahaman Shines in Ghana’s 3-1 Victory Over Zimbabwe.
Black Stars and Chelsea’s full back who is on loan at English championship side, Reading Fc shines in the Black Stars World Cup Qualifier against Zimbabwe at Cape Coast stadium on Saturday, 9th October, 2021. The 27 year old left back put up a 5-stars performance in the match with an assist of the goal that was scored by his skipper, Andrew Ayew.
Baba Rahaman has been seen as a rejuvenated player after being consistent in performance, both club and international levels. He did so well in the match against Zimbabwe, defending and attacking so well.
The experienced full back provided a lot of mouth watering crosses into the Zimbabweans goal area and succeeded in goal assist later of the match when he located Andre Ayew to head home the third and last goal for Black Stars. Baba Rahaman’s performance today could see him cement his place in the starting team of coach Milovan Rajevac in his second stint.
Baba made his Black Stars debut in 2014 and was part of Ghana’s squad that finished the 2015 AFCON as runners up.
He has also played for clubs such as Asante Kotoko (Ghana), Greuther Fürt (Germany),
FC Augsburg (Germany), Chelsea, Schalke 04 (Germany), Reims (France), Mallorca (Spain), Paok (Greece) and currently with
Reading Fc (England).
Ghana will face same opponents on Tuesday, 12th October, 2021 in Harare in the reverse fixture.
