QATAR 2022 WC : President Akuffo Addo Congratulates Black Stars for the hard work.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo has congratulated the Senior National team of Ghana, Black Stars for their hardwork and dedication showed in Nigeria in their 2022 FIFA World Cup play-off.
The Black Stars of Ghana on Tuesday secured a spot in Qatar 2022 World Cup after holding rivals Nigeria in a crunchy encounter at the Moshood Abiola stadium to a 1-1 draw. The two teams played a goalless draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Ghana through Arsenal FC midfielder Thomas Teye Partey got the opener in the 11th minute which was leveled before the first half via a spot-kick with Troost Ekong making the score 1-1 at halftime.
The Black Stars held the Nigerians till the final whistle. 1-1 was the final score paving way for for Ghana to secure their fourth ticket to the Mundial in Qatar later this year.
The President of Ghana Nana Akuffo Addo has send a warm message of Congratulations to the entire team.
“Warm congratulations to the Senior National Football Team, the Black Stars, for their dogged display in Abuja, and qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar”.
“I am very proud of the team’s exploits. They have made the entire nation proud”, he wrote on twitter.
Ghana is expected to redeem themselves after failing to qualify for the 2018 Russia World Cup with good performance. The catastrophic performance the Black Stars exhibited in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is still fresh in the minds of Ghanaians.
