Only four Premier League clubs can afford Erling Haaland in the summer – Mino Raiola
Erling Haaland has been in a sensational form since his move to Borussia Dortmund in January 2020, having scored 43 goals in 43 matches for the German side in all competition’s.
He recently scored two goals against Sevilla in the UEFA Champions league, and drop the hint that he was motivated by Klian Mbappe scoring a hat trick against Barcelona.
This has lead many to suggest that he and Mbappe will take over from Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. His form has linked him to many clubs including Manchester United and rivals Manchester City.
Speaking to the BBC, Haaland’s agent Raiola said he would not comment too much on his client’s future, but said it was clear that only a limited amount of Premier League sides could afford him.
He said: “The problem that I feel you have in England is, whenever I say my opinion – an opinion I have – everybody in England goes berserk and I’m the worst agent or the best. It doesn’t matter, 50 per cent love me, 50 per cent hate me – or 80 per cent hate me, 20 per cent love me”
“Clubs get so much stress and so stressed by the public and journalists that I’ve learned not to talk so much about it.
“It’s obvious, though, that everybody is looking at Erling as one of those potential future stars because it’s so difficult to do what he does at his age at this level that he’ll be one of the future stars of the next decade.
“We see that stars like Ibrahimovic, Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are coming into an age where everyone asks themselves how long we can still enjoy them, so everyone is looking for the next generation.
“It’s obvious that only a maximum of 10 clubs can afford to buy him from Dortmund. We can all fill in those clubs and four of those clubs are in your beautiful country.
“You can fill them in, call them and ask if they’d be interested. I think there’s not a sporting director or trainer in the world who’d say they wouldn’t be interested.
” It’s like saying: ‘Is there a Formula 1 team who would not be interested in having Lewis Hamilton?'”
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City wants to sign the striker as a replacement for will soon be out of contract legend Sergio Kun Aguero.
The Argentines contract will end after the season and there are rumours that he will not renew it. He has since been linked to PSG and some number of clubs also.
