Women’s football is fast growing in Northern Region, especially in Tamale and female players development in the region cannot be overemphasized. Developmental coaches in the region such as Basiru-Deen Sumani (Northern Ladies) , Baba Nuhu Malam (Pearlpia Ladies) , Mohammed Nurudeen Sham-una (Bagabaga Ladies), Iddrisu Napari-Kubli (Fc Young Queens), Prince Abdul-Salam (Nasara ladies), Arimiyaw Barhama (Yoo Ladies), Fuseini Mumuni (X-Coach, Dahinsheli Ladies), Mohammed Bashiru Joba (X-Coach, FC Savanah) have succeeded in developing the young female players to meet international standards.

Several young players have been developed within some few years and are fit to play in any league or competition within Ghana and beyond. One of such players is Yushaw Fuseina of Bagabaga Ladies FC.

Yushaw Fuseina (Remirez), Bagabaga Ladies

Yushaw Fuseina, 16 is a box-box midfielder. She is a ball winner and a good distributor of the ball. Her link up play with both defenders and attackers is superb. Yushaw Fuseina’s ability to fight for 90 minutes without becoming tired gives her the name ‘Remirez’, former Chelsea Brazilian midfielder. She is also a type of midfielder who wish to score goals from long ranges, making her to always shoot from distances when the opportunity presents itself, No wonder some football fans referred to her as ‘Frank Lampard’ of Women’s Football. But I liken her to the Black Stars and Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Taye Partey because of her similar features with the former Athletico Madrid man.

Lovers of Women’s Football should watch out for Yushaw Fuseina in the 2021/2022 Women’s Premier League either with Bagabaga Ladies or any other Women’s Premier League Club.

Bagabaga ladies won the first match of the season by 3 goals to nil against Beyom Ladies. Thanks to Abdulai Salamatu’s hatrick.
