NRFA Women’s DOL Match Report : Tamale Super Ladies end the Unbeaten Run of FC Savannah with a 3-1 Victory
The Northern Regional Women’s Division one league match day 6 took center stage with the ‘top of the table’ clash between Super Ladies fc and FC Savannah at the Kaladan park on Saturday, 24th July, 2021.
Before the fixture, FC Savannah was on top of the League Log with 15 points from 5 matches while the counterparts, Super Ladies FC was 2nd with 13 points in 5 matches.
Super Ladies started the game with dominance, taking full control of the midfield. The defense was also a hard nut for FC Savannah to crack as Nurudeen Zulaiha, the Ghana female U-15 player and her center back partner outplayed the attackers of the opponents, FC Savanah.
Their efforts payed off in the 9th minute when Zakaria Rashida (Costa) scored to put Super Ladies Fc in a lead.
Adama Sandra made it two for Coach Najimu-Deen’s side, Super Ladies FC on the 44th minute when she expertly took a free kick straight at goal points to put the ball behind the net. The first half ended 2-0 in favour of Super Ladies fc.
FC Savannah came into the second half fully prepared to fight back which saw them deployed more players upfront with some tactical switch of play. Karima put their efforts to good use when she took advantage of communication error between Super Ladies fc goalkeeper and her defense to a goal for FC Savannah in the early minutes of the second half.
Before the final whistle, Safianu Ayishetu beautifully took a corner kick straight into the net to seal the victory for Super Ladies fc. The match ended 3-1 in favor of Super Ladies fc.
Super Ladies fc now occupy the top spot with 16 points in 6 matches.
Adama Sandra was chosen the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the match for her outstanding performance.
