NRFA Ordinary Congress: Media should project the positives of the game to attract sponsors – Alhaji Rhyzo
The Northern Regional Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Abu-Hassan Rhyzo has called on the media to develop the habit of projecting the positives of the game in order to attract sponsors. He made this statement during the 2022/2023 ordinary congress at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Saturday, 31st December 2022.
The congress brought together various clubs’ representatives across the Northern, North East and Savannah Regions. It also included the DFAs reps, old players reps, the media among others.
In his statement, the NRFA Chairman urged stakeholders of the game to always play their roles very well. This he said would help develop football in the Northern Region. He again indicated that the Government and the traditional rulers have roles to play in ensuring that we have adequate football infrastructure by making lands available for construction of football pitches.
The RFA chairman also urged coaches and technical members in the region to update their skills and knowledge of the game. He however entreated parents to take keen interest in guiding and disciplining their wards.
Alhaji Rhyzo also used the opportunity to call on supporters to exercise restraint in attacking match officials and was also quick enough to urge the referees to be impartial and just, as this can go a long way to reduce hooliganism during matches
Sixtynine (69) division two clubs will be participating in this year’s league and each club was presented with two footballs each to help them during matches
The Division two league is scheduled to start on the weekend of 13th January 2023 at the various centers.
