NRFA CHAIRMAN ATTENDS FINAL FUNERAL RITES OF LATE COACH BANNERMAN IN YENDI

The Northern Regional Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo this morning attended the final funeral rites of late Coach Bannerman in Yendi.

The late Coach Bannerman until his departure was the Vice Chairman of the Yendi Municipal Football Association and also the founder of Yendi based Division Two club Sankara Nationals SC. His sudden death was a blow to Northern Football most especially the Eastern Corridor Zone.

Scores of people poured out to his final funeral rites in Yendi today, the NRFA chairman was in attendance together with his entourage. Former Black Stars player, Mohammed Gargo who now coaches Tamale Steadfast FC was also in attendance to honour the late Coach Bannerman.

The football fraternity both in and out of the region, were all present in Yendi this morning to honour the late Mohammed Gariba popularly called Bannerman.

The NRFA chairman has been a great leader since he assumed office in 2019. He recently organized COVID-19 vaccination for clubs and sports writers in the Region.

His trusted leadership style has not been overlooked, as he was part to the delegation that led the Black Satellites to AFCON Youth Championship triumph in Mauritania few month back.

Among his entourage was the NRFA Vice Chairman, Mr. Musah Ibrahim Kessie, chairman of the Colts Clubs Association, Alhaji Alhassan Dawuo and the chairman of the Division Two clubs Association, Mr Mohammed Tahidu.

He made cash donations to the widow, the orphans and the mother of the late Coach Bannerman.

Alhaji Rhyzo ceased the opportunity to plead to the Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Ahmed Yussif Kums to help speed up the work of the two sports Complexes currently under construction in the Yendi township.
As that could be an effective way of improving sports in the Municipality.
