NR DTL: Date, Venue set for the start of the Men Division Two Middle League

Following the verdict released yesterday June 15, 2022 by the Disciplinary Committee of the Northern Regional Football Association declaring STK Stars victor’s in their protest against Mole Nationals FC, the NRFA has today Thursday 16th June released date and venue for the start of the Middle League.

 

 

The middle league is scheduled to begin on Wednesday 22nd June, 2022 at the Airforce Base Field in Tamale, and ends on Tuesday 28th June 2022.

 

 

Six teams are battling for the only Division One League slot in the Region, the qualified teams are Kasalgu Arrow Heads, Tamale Soccer Angels, Kumbungu Bimbiem FC, Sankara Nationals FC, Yendi Soccer Heroes and STK Stars.

 

Three of the qualified teams have been at this stage before, that is Sankara Nationals who finished fourth last season in the middle league and are highly spirited to getting the ultimate this season. STK Stars just like Sankara Nationals have been consistent in reaching this stage, they were placed 3rd last season and if not for a protest they could have qualified to the DOL. Soccer Angels formerly Zanwara FC were also there last season and finished 2nd. The team is in good shape to compete haven pass through the hardway against Real Galaxy FC to get to this stage.

 

Kasalgu Arrow Heads who finished top in their Zone are here for the first time and are highly motivated to qualifying to the division one, led by senior lecturer at the University for development studies Dr. Michael Ayamga. The highly respected Dr. Ayamga has waited for this moment quite long and will be happy now that the date has been revealed.
Kumbungu Bimbiem FC and Yendi Soccer Heroes FC, just like Arrow Heads are making their maiden appearance and will be hoping to upsetting their rivals by securing promotion to the Division One League. Both finished top in their respective zones and will be ready for the big boys.

It’s going to be a stiff competition but in the end only one team is guaranteed a spot in the DOL.
