NORTHERN LADIES FC : SECOND PRE-SEASON MATCH ENDED IN A STALEMATE

Northern Ladies Fc as part of their preparations towards the new season engaged the Juvenile club, Prato Fc in a Pre-Season Friendly match on Saturday, 14th November, 2020 at Lamashegu Quarters Park in Tamale. The match was the second pre-season match for the Northern based Premier League side.

Coach Basiru-Deen lined up a very strong side against Coach Iddrisu Suker’s side, Prato Fc. The 2018 Women’s U-17 Golden Boot Winner, Abdulai Mukarama was in the starting team along side the Black Princesses Goalkeeper, Issahaku Barikisu. Black Maidens Center Back, Seidu Faiza, Alhassan Fakiha, Yakubu Adamu, Salifu Victory, Konlan Charity were all in the starting XI.

The first half was thrilling to watch as players of both sides really showed their classes. Northern Ladies Fc came closer to opening the scoring but the goalkeeper of Prato Fc denied Fredricka to utilize the chance that came on her way. At the tail end of the first half, Prato Fc got a very glary chance to break the deadlock but the magic hands of the Black Princesses Goalkeeper, Issahaku Barikisu prevented them from getting the opener. The first half ended in a blank draw.

Coach Iddrisu Suker’s Juvenile side, Prato Fc came back strongly for the second half of the match creating several scoring opportunities but failed to convert any of the opportunities to a goal. Thanks to the fine form of the Northern Ladies goalkeeper, Issahaku Barikisu in the match. The black Princess goalkeeper pulled a lot of wonderful saves to deny Prato Fc from scoring.

The head coach of Northern Ladies Fc, Sumani Basiru made some changes by bringing on another Black Princesses attacker, Jafar Rahama for Salifu Victoria to add more power to his attack. The change nearly paid as Jafar Rahama created several chances but nothing came from the chances. The women’s premier league side dominated the game in the last quarter of the match keeping the tempo of the match so high and creating several chances. The players played as if they were playing against colleague female players. The new players were in fantastic form. The match ended in a goalless draw.

Meanwhile, the women’s premier league is scheduled to commence on 2nd January, 2020.
