News Inn: Referee Salifu Barkisu receives FIFA badge

Ghanaian female Referee and 2020/2021 Best Female Referee, Barikisu Salifu has received FIFA Badge at the Ghana Football Association Secretariat on Wednesday, 12th January 2022.

 

Barkisu is one of the finest female referees in Ghana who has successfully officiated lots of big matches in Ghana, both the male and female categories.

 

This comes as no surprise considering the efforts and passion she attaches to her work both on pitch and off the pitch. It is a dream come true since she has always wished for a FIFA badge.

 

The Universal Premier League Award winner was part of the four referees in Ghana who were selected for the FIFA badges and was anxiously waiting for this day.

 

The General Secretary of Ghana Football Association, Lawyer Prosper Harrison Addo Esq presented the badge on behalf of the FA president.

 

Speaking to sportsmrnews.com , referee Barkisu was grateful to all those who supported her with encouragement to become a referee.

 

 

“I am so glad that I have finally fulfill my dream of obtaining a FIFA Badge. I thank Almighty Allah for this gift and I will continue to work hard for more blessings”.

 

Referee Salifu Barkisu is expected to return to Kumasi for a Premier League match over the weekend.
