Nepotism, Cronyism Vindictiveness and Disunity will be out of Ghana Football under my leadership- George Afriyie

The former Vice President of Ghana Football Association, Mr George Kwesi Afriyie has declared his intention to contest for the GFA presidency in the upcoming elections.

 

George Afriyie pledge to ensure that GFA under his leadership will operates with the highest level of professionalism and competence devoid of nepotism, cronyism, vindictiveness and disunity. Many aspects of our game today have fallen short of expectations.

 

He added that, the time has come for Ghana football to be led by a unifier, someone who has a greater appreciation of grassroot Football development and wealth of competence to deliver the set goals.

Ladies and gentlemen, My name is George Kwesi Afriyie, the former vice president of the Ghana Football Association.

 

Ghana Football has always strive when all stakeholders, administrators, players, coaches, fans, the media and the public and are all are United with the share purpose and a common vision. It is crucial that at this time of our football, we come together as a family, setting aside personal agendas, interest and work towards a common goal. Together we build bridges, heal wounds and forge a United front that will propel our football to new height.

 

As I announce my candidature for the presidency of Ghana Football Association in the upcoming elections, I am filled with a great sense of responsibility and enthusiasm, I am fully convinced with my wealth of experience, a burning passion for Ghana football and a clear passion for its restoration. I believe that the time has come for Ghana football to be led by a unifier, someone who has a greater appreciation of grassroot Football development and wealth of competence to deliver the set goals.

 

We need to move on from repetitive mistakes towards a more practical approach to solving problems. In this challenging times, I come in as a beacon of Hope, believing in the immense potential of Ghana Football to rise above adversity.

 

I offer a vision for the future where our national team will continuously compete at the highest level. Our local clubs and the leagues will strive and our young talent are given equal opportunities they deserve. With perseverance and strong leadership as our guiding light, we will inspire generation, rekindle enthusiasm and the pride that Ghana football is known for.

 

Competence is the foundation upon which success is built. Therefore, with my vast experience and deep knowledge of Ghana football including but not limited to serving as the Chairman of National Juvenile Committee, Chairman of the National Under-20 Committee, Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee and the Vice President of Ghana Football Association. I bring a world knowledge with deep understanding of the game, of all the challenges we face in today. Dedicated to implementing efficient and effective strategies that will drive the development and growth of our football from good corporate governance to prudent financial Management practices, talent management and infrastructure.

 

I will ensure that the GFA operate with the highest level of professionalism and competence, devoid of nepotism, cronyism vindictiveness and disunity. Many aspects of our game today have fallen short of expectations. With your support we will make sure Ghana football is rescued once again and restored to its rightful place. I assure you that under my leadership this failure and display of incompetent shall be rectified. In the coming days, my campaign will come in full swing, focus on engaging with stakeholders, presenting vision, policies and mobilizing support.

 

I look forward to the opportunity to serve Ghana football as the next GFA president. With your support, we can create a brighter future for Ghana football. the one that will bring joy and pride to our nation.

 

In the previous election, there was no clear-cut winner. However, I considered in the interest of Ghana football, offered my support and directed my supposed to do the same but what do we see now. Together let us embark on this journey towards excellence and reclaiming our rightful place on the global stage. Thank you to all members of the football fraternity, thank you to the entire public.
