Naa Gbewaa Charity Cup 2022: RFA stands for football development in the Region – Alhaji Rhyzo

The first edition of Naa Gbewaa Charity Cup finals attracted so many dignitaries from the region to attend. The final match took place at the Aliu Mahama Stadium between Binbiem FC and Kasalgu Arrow Heads on Thursday, 15th December, 2022.

 

The Division One side Kumbungu Binbiem FC won 5-3 on penalties to become the champions of the maiden edition.

 

The Northern Regional Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Abu-Hassan Rhyzo in his speech indicated that the RFA is always involved in activities that would promote development of football in the region.

 

Alhaji Rhyzo again indicated that football is a profession like others. That’s why RFA, Northern Region would always support all football activities in order to give opportunities for more young footballers to excel in the profession.

 

The Dagbong Excellence Foundation’s initiative was fully supported by the RFA to ensure the Overlord of Dagbon is duly honored.

 

“I would like to thank all the participating clubs RTU, Steadfast FC, Kumbungu Binbiem FC and Kasalgu Arrow Heads for putting up a good fight and also ensuring the competition becomes a success” Alhaji Rhyzo stated

 

He specifically congratulated Kasalgu Arrow Heads Fc for accepting to participate, even though the notice got to them late but yet were able to beat Steadfast FC to book their in the finals.

 

The RFA chairman also urged the clubs to appreciate that football is 90 minutes and even within 5 minutes goals can still be scored. He however called on clubs to always have patience when things are not going on well during matches.

 

Let me also state that this is the first edition of the competition and there is still room for improvement. Let’s not discourage the organizers to throw in the towel but rather encourage them to continue to work hard for a better edition next time” The RFA Chairman stated

He also thanked all those who supported the initiative, the National Sports Authority, St John’s Ambulance and the Media for ensuring that the competition comes to a successful end.

 

They RFA Chairman has shown commitment to the Naa Gbewaa Charity Cup and has made a cash donation of GHC1,200.00 to the individual awards winners and also presented 10 packs of bottled water to support the clubs. He also presented GHC100.00 to Kasalgu Arrow Heads goalkeeper as his special gift.

 

Alhaji Rhyzo on behalf of the entire Football fraternity congratulated the champions, Kumbungu Binbiem FC for being the champions for the first edition of Naa Gbewaa Charity Cup.

 

Naa Bapɛri Lamashe-Naa represented the Overlord of Dagbon and presented the trophy to the champions.
