N/R: Sagnarigu Municipal Football Association Holds Maiden Edition of Annual Awards Ceremony.
Football Associations are supposed to be acknowledging and rewarding stakeholders of the game for their enormous performance, support and contributions to the development of the game. These acknowledgements and rewards motivate and ginger the stakeholders to give out their best, by way of performance and support.
Sagnarigu Municipal Football Association is not left out of the mandate of awarding the deserving personalities in the game of football. The association holds its maiden awards ceremony on Wednesday, 19th January, 2022 at the Conference of Aliu Mahama Stadium @7pm. The ceremony saw football players and coaches received awards for their wonderful performances in the 2020/2021 football season.
Some great personalities who have contributed enormously for the success of the competitions organized by the Sagnarigu Municipal Football Association were also honored with citations. Notable among them are the Northern Regional Football Association’s chairman, Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo, NPP Candidate for Sagnarigu Constituency (2020), Madam Felicia Tettey, MP for Sagnarigu Constituency, Hon. A. B. A Fuseini, Former DFA Chairman for Sagnarigu, Mr Alhassan Issahaku Dagbamba Naa and many others.
In attendance of the Awards Ceremony were NRFA Chairman, Alhaj Abu Hassan Mahamudu Rhyzo, MCE for Sagnarigu, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed Yakubu, Regional Police Crime Officer, Supt. Benard Baba Ananga, Presiding officer for Sagnarigu Municipal, and other dignitaries.
Speaking in the ceremony, the chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association, Alhaj Abu Hassan Rhyzo called on the DFAs to get themselves ready to run the subsequent women’s division two competitions since the women’s division two falls within the jurisdictions of the district football associations. Alhaj Rhyzo disclosed that the maiden edition of the division two competition in the Northern Region was organized by the RFA. However, going forward, the district would have to take over from the RFA in organizing the women’s division two competitions, according to the RFA Chairman.
The MCE for Sagnarigu Municipality, Mr Ahmed Mohammed used the opportunity to call for rebuilding school and college sports to help improve sports especially football in the country. The Chief Executive Officer also assured the people of Sagnarigu Municipality that construction of an Astro Turf is in the pipeline and even disclosed where the Astro Turf would be cited.
The chairman of Sagnarigu Municipal Football Association, Mr Dauda Ibrahim was delighted to have so many dignitaries gracing the maiden awards ceremony. He used the opportunity to thank all and sundry for their support.
