N/R Middle League: Mole Nationals protest case against Northern City dismissed
The Northern Regional Football Association Disciplinary Committee has dismissed a protest case filed by Mole Nationals against Northern City FC in respect of a middle league match played at the NOBISCO Park.
Mole Nationals filed a protest against Northern City citing double registration of a player, Adam Habib. They indicated that Adam Habib is a registered Team Official with Africaid Wizkid FC and a registered player of Northern City which they said is against the law.
Northern City in their defense, indicated the player, Adam Habib was scouted, his manager engaged and were directed to talk to his club Nalerigu United. An official request was sent to Nalerigu United which was approved and the player was duly released to Northern City FC. Northern City also indicated that they did not alter any information about the player and hence the case be dismissed.
In the findings of the Disciplinary Committee, the player, Adam Habib was released to Sky FC, now Africaid Wizkid FC in 2018 as a player and in 2022 released same player to Northern City. Africaid Wizkid FC change the player to team Official (Team Doctor) in 2018.
Under the current circumstances, Northern City FC was deemed to have not committed any offense as they followed the right processes in acquiring a player.
The Disciplinary Committee in their ruling dismissed the case, fine Nelerigu United GHC400 for releasing one player to two different clubs and fine Africaid Wizkid FC GHC400 for registering a player as an official without informing him.
The DC also suspended the prayer for one year.
“Habib Adam with double registration numbers GHA051707M and GHA019327M is hereby suspended for one season from 26th June, 2023 to 26th June, 2024.” As the rulling stated.
