N/R : Lesser Known Sports, TEQBALL launched in Tamale.
TEQBALL is a newly introduced game in Ghana and is managed by the TEQBALL Federation of Ghana.
On the 21st October, 2020, the TEQBALL Federation Ghana launched their regional branch in Tamale at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium. In attendance to grace the occasion were : Northern Regional Director, National Sports Authority, Madam Salamatu Alhassan, Regional P. E Coordinator, Mr Sandow Apanya Sule, the Administrator of Aliu Mahama Stadium, Mr Samuel Nii Obley, media men and women.
Five (5) members were sworn in as the executives of the TEQBALL Federation Ghana, Northern Region Branch. The Northern Regional Director of Sports, Madam Salamatu was the one who sworn in the new executives. They included :
1. Dr Sule Gariba – Chairman.
2. Mr Muaz Choo – Vice Chairman
3. Mr Haruna Ayuba – Technical Director
4. Fuseini Lawal – Organizing Secretary
5. Madam Monica Achuadem – Treasurer.
Speaking after the swearing in, the vice chairman of the Northern Regional TEQBALL Federation, Mr Muaz Choo on behalf of the Chairman thanked the national executives of TEQBALL Federation Ghana for the trust they put in them and pledged that himself together with the other regional executives shall do their best to make TEQBALL a successful Sports Discipline in Ghana and beyond.
The Regional Physical Education Coordinator, Mr Sandow Apanya Sule stated that, in every sports discipline, commitment and consultations are very important. He urged the regional executives to always show commitment in their quest to make TEQBALL a popular sports discipline. He however advised them to always consult people for more knowledge and ideas about the game.
The organizing secretary of the Federation, Mr Lawal Fuseini delivered a powerful speech on behalf of the national Chairman who could not be there in person as a result of a circumstance beyond his control. Mr Lawal also described the game in brief to the audience of the inaugural ceremony. He added that the game will soon be launched for people to see how it is played.
