N/R DTL: Kumbungu Binbiem FC crowned champions of Regional Division Two League

The Northern Regional Football Association has crowned Kumbungu Binbiem FC as the Champions for the 2021/2022 Division Two League in the region.

The Coronation ceremony took place at the Aliu Mahama Stadium Annex on Saturday, 9th July, 2022. The Coronation match that preceded the ceremony had the Champions, Kumbungu Binbiem FC beat their play mates Yoo FC from Savelugu 2-1.

Addressing the gathering, the MCE for Kumbungu District Hon Abdul Salam Hamza Fatawu expressed his gratitude to the Chiefs and people of Kumbungu and everyone for the support given to Kumbungu Binbiem FC. He thanked the players and technical team for their efforts in uplifting the image of the district.

“Everyone from the region should support the club for the upcoming Division One League in order for them to qualify to Premier League” He added

The MP for Kumbungu Constituency, Hon Dr Adam Hamza in his address indicated that this is a great time to be an MP for Kumbungu Constituency. He expressed his gratitude to the players and technical team for their hard work ensuring that the club qualify to the Division One League.

“I am assuring you that you have my full support, day and night to make sure you qualify to the Premier League” the MP stated

The MP presented a set of jersey and GHC500.00 to each of the two clubs, Kumbungu Binbiem FC and Yoo FC.

The Chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association, Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo commended the Division Two working committee for spearheading a successful league.

He further commended Kumbungu Binbiem FC for putting up spirited performance that saw them seal through from the Zonal level to the Sub-middle and to the middle league. He urge them to put up their best as the division one league is not easy.

The Regional Chairman, gave the season’s statistics as 562 matches were played at the Zonal level, 50 matches at the Sub-middle and 15 matches middle league.
A total of 627 matches in all. Clubs in the Yendi zone who progressed to the middle league played 30 matches

Kumbungu Binbiem FC received a Trophy, 40 Gold Medals and a cash amount of Ghc2,000.00 as champions for the Region.

Kumbungu Binbiem FC will be representing Northern Region in the National division two championship in Volta Region in September.
