N/R Division Two: Supporters of Sankara Nationals FC make donation to the club

Supporters of Yendi based Division Two League side Sankara Nationals FC has on Monday 30th May, 2022 donated an undisclosed amount of money to the Management and Players of the club, as their support for the team towards their preparations and participation in the Division Two Sub-Middle League.





Sankara Nationals FC is one of the club with large fan base in the Northern Region, the numbers keeps growing every year due to the great performances the team is delivering anytime they participate in a tournament. The admiration for the club has travelled beyond the Yendi City and is fast growing to other parts of the region.




The leader of the supporters union Afa Alhassan after the presentation believes their unflinching support for the team is beyond just shouting, clapping and cheering the players up during matches:

As supporters of this great club, one of our core duties is to assist the club financially when they are in need, we have tasked ourselves to lend our support by donating this amount to help fuel our agenda of gaining promotion to the Division One League.”

“We shall support the club in whatever means we can, our prayers are with the club and we shall travel with you to Tamale to cheer you up for the Sub-Middle League.” Afa Alhassan added.

The club’s officials and players both took turns to thank the teaming fan base for their tumultuous support always and promised not to disappoint them this time round.
The players believes the immeasurable support from the fans has made them never to give up during matches, because they always fear to see them with disappointing faces.



The Yendi based division two side failed in their quest to secure qualification to the DOL after finishing 4th in the Middle league last season. They have not relent in their efforts to gaining promotion to the division one league, they head into the Sub-Middle League this season haven’t finished top of Zone 7 with 41 points from 20 matches.





The club is set to begin their campaign in the Sub-middle league on Wednesday, 1st June, 2022 against fellow Yendi side Soccer Lions FC at the Kaladan Field 1.

The other remaining fixtures are listed below:

  1. Thursday 2nd June, 2022 at Tatu Park vs Naamu Faith.
  2. Friday 3rd June, 2022 at Game center vs Soccer Heroes
  3. Saturday 4th June, 2022 at Kaladan Field 1 vs Gmantambo Nationals FC
  4. Sunday 5th June, 2022 at Kaladan Field 1 vs Yelzoli FC.
