N/R Division Two Middle League: Four Teams Secure Wins On Match Day One

Northern Regional Division Two Middle League, 2022/2023 commenced on Friday, 09/06/2023. Eight teams out of the 24 in the sub-middle league made it to the middle league. They include; Northern City, Yapei United, Buipe Scorpions, Kasalgu Arrow Heads, Savelugu Yoo FC, Northern Zaytuna FC, Mole Nationals and Dipanticha FC.

 

The 8 clubs were put into two groups of four each with an all play all format. The first matches of the middle league were honored with the following results on Friday.

 

Northern Zaytuna 1-2 Yapei United FC

One of the tournament favorites, Northern Zaytuna FC had their hopes dashed when they fell flat from the hands of Yapei United FC at the TaTU park. Hussein Kamahene Rahaman took an early lead for Northern Zaytuna on the 8th but Northern Zaytuna Fc could not protect the lead. Yapei United FC’s Abdul Mumin Inus Musah equalized on the 45th with Yakubu Ewura’s goal on the 56th sealing a victory for Yapei United FC.

 

Mole Nationals 1-2 Northern City.

A very tough and highly competitive match at the Tamale Utrecht Park ended with a 2-1 victory to Northern City. Mole Nationals Fc had so many chances wasted. Alhassan Jawad put Northern City ahead after he converted a penalty kick on the 14th minute. Yussif Rayanu equalized for Mole Nationals on the 30th minute. The match became tensed with both teams commiting more men upfront. Northern City Aliyas Abu Wildan came with a fine goal on the 67th to make it two.

 

Buipe Scorpions 4-1 Savelugu Yoo FC.

The fixture turned to be one sided game for Buipe Scorpions when Savelugu Yoo FC could not withstand the pressure from the Scorpions. Hudu Issah scored on the 12th and 29th minute to complete the braze. Alhassan Zakaria also got his name on the score sheet on the 20th minute and Munkaila Lansah scored to make it 4 for the Scorpions on the 43rd minute. Abdul Wadud Abdulai 87th minute goal gave the Savelugu Yoo FC a consolation.

 

Kasalgu Arrows Heads 2-1 Dipanticha FC

Two clubs with equal strength, both with equal quality and experience entertained fans to a spectacular football. Agyemantor Jonas put Arrow Heads ahead Fc on the lead on 18th minute with Sayibu Abubakari making it two on the 66th. It seem all was over until Tubiga Philips, the lead striker of Dipanticha FC scored a brilliant goal with his back to the pole on the 85th minutes to make it 2-1 but that was not enough for Dipanticha Fc to earn anything from the match.

 

The matches continue unabated on Saturday, 10/06/2023 with the following fixtures:

Savelugu Yoo FC vs Kasalgu Arrow Heads

Yapei FC Vs Mole Nationals

Northern City Vs Northern Zaytuna 
(Tamale Utrecht Field)7:30am

 

Winners of the two groups shall fight for the only slot in Division One in the final match of 2023 regional division two league.
